Amazing Breakfast

Since today is the last day of January, that means it is the last day to finish putting away my craft room/office! Now I know it is already 11:30 am, but I promise I have not been slacking off. Actually, I took my husband out for breakfast in Long Beach, at a great diner called Coffee Cup Cafe.

One day last month, I was taking one of my high school students out to breakfast, our plans were halted when our favorite diner, Starling Diner, was closed for vacation. I went to my trusty website Urbanspoon.com, for a top ten list of breakfast places in Long Beach...and as always they delivered, instilling even more confidence in their judgement. The Coffee Cup Cafe has a great warmth and welcome to it, as if when you walk through their doors and it's your first or second time...you are one of them, long time customers, "regulars"!

So of course I wanted to boast in my knowledge of great Long Beach classics, to my husband who was born and raised. I think he loved it! My favorite menu item...actually it's the only one I've ordered, is Juan's Favorite. An omelette (more like a burrito, wrapped in egg with no tortilla...terribly description) filled with onions, bell peppers, mushrooms, cheese and VEGGIE chorizo! Yes! I know, right? I love the chorizo, but the idea of what it is, makes me sick. So when I saw there was a veggie version, my taste buds leaped (you didn't know they could do that, huh?) and it tastes just like the real thing, without the images of pig scraps :)

Anyway, I have already submitted this restaurant to Diners, Drive ins and Dives....(yet to hear a reply) if you find yourself in the wonderful city of Long Beach, stop on by and tell them I sent you....they don't really know my name:)

Too many ideas!

Surprisingly this looked a lot worse!

Looks like Hoarders

I'm in process

I'm not sure if you have ever had the privilege of enjoying DesignSponge.com, but it seems that I had forgotten about this site for awhile....I do that sometimes. Obsess about a site where I am reading the same post in one week, because I want to check in everyday not sure if I missed an email :/

I found this post on Designsponge.com very helpful and fitting for my "Year of Making Things Happen"!

Check it out.

***And "YES", I am stalling on this room...he he he!

Craftcation!!!

One of my goals accomplished...check! My mom and I bought our day passes for Craftcation. I am so excited to learn how this year I am going to make things happen. I will be attending classes on business, finances, social media, etc. all for making my crafty hobby into a legitimate business.

That same weekend, we are going to watch Hunger Games, style hair for a wedding in Temecula and treat ourselves to wine tasting after it is all said and done!

Do you have any recommendations for other business seminars or resources for a crafty business?

2012! The year things become a reality!

How many times have you heard "this is MY year"?

I know I have heard and I have said it. Some years I have made small goals/resolutions, so that at the end of the year I was not disappointed. Or I have made a goal that I was already in the process of!

So the last month of 2011, I spent a lot of time, thought and prayer over my new and some renewed goals. This time would be different because I have in mind to actually make action plans to succeed.

Goal #1 Blog about my goals:)
Goal #2 Organize my craft room
Goal #3 Make a legitimate business out of my creations
Goal #4 Attend Craftcation
Goal #5 Take my home based business to the next level
Goal #6 Send cards to friends, family and customers
Goal #7 Take more pictures
Goal #8 Make an outfit
Goal #9 Go to more hair classes
Goal #10 Take a family photo
Goal #11 Update my wardrobe
Goal #12 Mini triathlon

I might have to come up with a new post, since I know that I have more goals than this. The idea for myself is to make these goals achievable and approachable. I find that I'm great at ideas, but I'm terrible at making them a reality....but no longer is that going to be me! I want my children to believe me when I say "You can dream big and make it happen, you are capable", they will see me do it!

I had read a while back The Last Lecture by Randy Pausch, and was inspired by his list of dreams. He had a pretty good list, with extraordinary goals and common goals, some were silly, but it didn't matter because they were HIS!

Please join me and make your list of things that you put off, big or small. Send me a link to yours, so we can succeed in them together. This is the year become our reality:)
